I value that I can work at my own pace on math, literature, science, and world history in my current learning environment. My dream school would look exactly like it does with a total of six rooms. Each room contains at least 2 couches and some chairs with comfortable rugs. In addition, a green room to film. Some of my strengths include: mathematics, communication, and kinesthetic. My interests include Aerospace Engineering and military planes (mostly the F-22, F-35, and the A-10). I have several goals I want to complete this year. They include starting on algebra for math, for reading, read at least 40 books. After school I do football, wrestling, baseball, a lifting program, snowboarding, and Math Counts.

I value being able to choose my own learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). My dream school would be self-paced in almost every class (but not self-taught; I like being able to communicate with my teachers face-to-face if I need it). My interests are definitely psychology, and forensic science, and I like to think that my strengths are that I work hard and try to make sure that whatever I turn in is to the best of my ability. My goals for this year would be to make it through the year with straight A's. As for sports, activities, and interests, I play lacrosse, I am in the marching band and I love to read.

Currently I value our pride period that was established term two of this year. In adding pride period, I am able to go to clubs and/or catch up on school work during pride period instead of doing it during my lunch. My dream school would consist of students working at their own pace. Those students who excel at a certain subject could work at a faster pace and not have to wait until the rest of class finishes. On the opposite side of it, those students who cannot work as fast in school would be able to spend the extra time given to really focus and understand the material. I am interested in becoming an oncology physician (those that deal with cancer). My strengths are biology, math, and Spanish. My goal for this year is to spread the idea of personalized learning. In addition, I would like to add some of the ideas presented to me in my own school and classrooms as they would benefit our school.

This is my second year on the council. I value personalized learning and believe it is very important. I believe a student is most successful when they are given a voice and choice within their learning, and what other do we want than for kids to succeed? As we know each person learns differently, being a part of the Youth Council, I hope to bring awareness to all schools across Southern Wisconsin the importance of personalized learning, and how it can be used to help each unique student. I hope to use my strength of problem solving to determine different and interesting ways to bring personalized learning into different schools. I also hope to use my bright bubbly smile to create a warm environment for our Youth Council to change the way schools use personalized learning today!

My dream school would be interesting rather than dull. I want a school that gives me a variety of extracurricular activities and will engage me in my learning. The school I want would also refer to the highest-grade students on how their school year has gone and would ask them what could have been improved to make their school year better. I am told by my peers that I am strong in my ability to lead others and usually enjoy it. I am an outgoing person and I love to help others as much as I can. I enjoy going to school because they give me choices in my learning. I can study, take notes, and do school work however I want as long as I am doing well and get it done by the due date. If teachers notice that I am struggling to get my work turned in on time or that I am more capable and can do better, then they will step in and help me get onto the right path.

Currently, I’m in a personalized learning program. My favorite thing is being able to work at my own pace. For years, I struggled in a traditional classroom because I was such a fast learner, but I never got the opportunity to get ahead of what was being taught. Now, I can work at the pace I want to without any limitations. My dream school would have teachers that I could always work one-on-one with whenever and for how long I needed. My dream school would have couches to learn on instead of desks and learning would take place outside when the weather was nice. I’m very interested in the health science and medical field. My strengths are math and writing. This year, my goal is to continue to get ahead of my grade in order to take college classes in high school.

In my current personalized learning environment I value the independence. My dream school would involve slightly more freedom on the students' end, allowing them to work more freely on the topics they'd like. My interests include law, feminism, psychology, women's rights, and history. My strengths lie in debating, analyzing, and numbers. My goal for this year is to continue on my advanced math path.

The thing I value most in my current learning environment is the independence that I have. I like how I get to choose when I work on certain things and it is all based on my needs. My dream school would have a huge library with all the books you can think of, a wifi system that never has any issues, the best computers and electronics for students and teachers, gym would not be a required class, and there would be more classes involving music or more bands like a jazz band. I like technology, art, music, and photography. My strengths include mathematics, and science. I am also very good at taking things apart and rebuilding them. My goal for this year is to start learning how computer chips work and how I can make or design my own, and then maybe hook it up to a device and have it work.

I love how my school has begun to change our curriculum so that most of the classes are online instead of using trees. I also love that our school improves our learning experience each year. My dream school would look like a school that would be preparing you for college. Some of my interests are listening to music, singing, dancing, writing music, playing volleyball, tennis, racquetball, swimming, ice skating, and watching movies. I am a huge music lover. Some strengths I have are a dedicated learner, listener, love to learn new things, I try my hardest, open-minded, and I am a good team worker. My goal for this year is to try and find out from the other students what they would like to see change in our school and hopefully put that into action.

I value education and believe that everyone should have the chance to learn. My dream school would have independent study areas in the cafeteria so that anyone would have the choice to use their lunch time also as a study time. Also, if I was in charge, I would create rooms specific for reading or any other activities that do not require noise. These rooms would have a comfy environment for the students. I enjoy playing club soccer, and am a member of the band as a trumpeter. I also love math and anything that has to do with reading. For this year, I hope to exploit my interests so that I will be prepared to choose the courses I take for my future.

I am lucky enough to be a part of a learning environment that is personalized to meet my needs and gives me the opportunity to expand my interests. I am able to research topics that I am passionate about and explore possible career paths. This school has shaped me into a vocal leader ready to take initiative in any activity. I hope to be admitted to all of the colleges I am interested in and continue my work in the community.

I value how much time our teachers put in for extra hours when it comes to helping as many students as they can in a short amount of time. My dream school would be fun, creative, have music playing while passing time, have decorations for each holiday, artwork, and areas in the school where kids can express themselves in a creative kind of atmosphere. There will be a period where kids can express new ideas they may have for school or teachers. My interests are camping, singing, English and a little bit of math even though I am not the best at it. My strengths are that I can step up and be a leader when I need too. I'm personable, interpersonal, caring, out-going and I love to give input whenever possible. My goal for this year is to try and make a difference. I have been a part of a club since day one where we try to make our school a better and improved place. We are an anti-bullying club that also tries to make everybody feel like a somebody.

I value the free time and comfortable atmosphere that I get in my learning environment. My dream school would have lots of comfortable chairs. I am in double advanced math and high school level reading. I am in Cross Country, Track and Field, and Ski Club. I enjoy all kinds of music and I am in choir, band, and the school musical.

One thing that I value in my current learning environment is the opportunity to learn from and work with other students in a collaborative way, which in turn helps me to expand my thinking and knowledge. My dream school would include a smaller environment, where I would be in charge of how quickly I finish required core subjects. Important areas of study for me are those relating to human rights and global issues. I believe it is important to be aware about what people around the world, specifically those in third world countries, deal with on a daily basis. My strengths lay in my positive attitude and belief in that one is capable of accomplishing their life goals, so long as they have a positive mindset and strong work ethic. My goals for this year include working hard towards becoming the best volleyball player that I can be, and making sure that I stay committed to my goals in education by being more organized and keeping a consistent schedule. My favorite sports are volleyball and track.

What I value in my learning environment is time management. I feel that it helps me prepare for my future. I love music, movies, and traveling. My goals for this year are to educate people on the good things about project based learning, and help kids who could really benefit from this environment.

I value the standards based learning currently implemented in my school and the teachers who work not only to test the students but also to provide understanding of materials. My dream school would be not only a place for self-paced learning but would also have programs that would provide for all styles including traditional and modern approaches. I am interested in education possibilities, Girl Scouts, Volleyball, and the Youth Advisory Council. My strengths include eloquent speaking and problem-solving. My current goals are to continue to improve in school and step towards my future.

I love to do things like water skiing in the Summer, and ice skating or downhill skiing in the Winter. Other interests I have include playing the guitar, reading or hanging out with my friends. Something I value in my learning environment is the fact that we get to manage our own time. I really like that if I need to work on a project, I can work on it whenever I want. My dream school would be bright and energetic. A school with the option for personalized learning, and a place where you can fully express yourself. And of course a place that has coffee machines;). Some goals for myself this year is to really give it my all, and to succeed in learning.

One thing that I really value with the learning environment at my school is the 1 to 1 technology. Every kid gets their own Chromebook to use for school work. If I could have my dream school, homework would be optional based on whether or not you need the practice. If you can show that you understand the topic on a quiz you shouldn't have to do that area on a test. Lastly and most importantly, there would be comfy chairs for everyone. Some of my interests and strengths include math, logical thinking, technology, and video games. This year my goal is to stop my procrastination when it comes to doing my homework.

In my own learning environment, I enjoy the time flexibility I get and the opportunity to creatively show my understanding of topics and learning targets using a variety of mediums. My dream school would allow students to be trained to think outside-the-box, in creative and also innovative ways rather than restrict students to be trained for routine, discipline, and restricted schedules. I really enjoy music, and I also have a passion for discovering new ideas constantly, specifically in Astrophysics, Cosmology, and also World Issues. My greatest strength is the ability to persevere through challenges, and my main goal is to strive to become more social as I am known by most as an introvert, but I want to be able to communicate my ideas to many in order to offer input that might have the potential of making a difference in the world.
