Learning is an autonomous activity, initiated and controlled by the learner. The same stimulus presented to multiple learners may result in learning for some, but not others. For learning to occur, there needs to be a connection, interaction or context identified.

Our work is to make these connections predictable, which can only happen if we have a rich understanding of the learner, what motivates, where interest lies, what is ready to be learned, and what connections will likely be made and stick. It also requires that we include the learner as a key contributor to their learning.

To do this we start with three elements that we feel are the core of the work:

  • Learner profiles
  • Customized learning paths
  • Proficiency-based progress
