A personalized learning ecosystem opens up new opportunities for families to be engaged in their children’s learning. Families know a great deal about how their children learn best; they know when their children are struggling and becoming disengaged. The combination of an environment with the learner at the center and the ubiquity of new technology invites family engagement. Certainly, families can play the traditional roles of providing support for learning at home, but they can now also review their children’s learning goals and activities, track their progress, and even serve as an audience for learner demonstrations and performances.
